Welcome to the Lunar Client January Recap, our first recap for 2025. We’ve released some awesome features this month, and we have many more planned! So, come along with us, as we dive right into the new mod-loaders.

NeoForge & Quilt Compatibility
We’ve doubled our support for mod loaders inside of Vanilla Launching, adding both NeoForge, and Quilt to our lineup. In case you haven’t heard of them, NeoForge is a fork of the original Forge started by most of the same developers, which aims to provide better optimization and support for newer versions of Minecraft, and currently supports 1.20.2, all the way to the latest version. However, NeoForge does not support standard Forge mods, so make sure you’re downloading the correct versions for your mods.
On the other hand, Quilt is a powerful open-source modloader, which aims to extend the capabilities for modders, and is useful for many advanced mods. Quilt supports versions 1.14.4 to the latest version of Minecraft. So, if you’re looking to use either types of mods with our Vanilla Launching, it’s now finally possible.
Internal Cosmetic Update
We now have the ability to create cosmetics that fully transform your player model, such as removing certain body parts from your player and replacing them with a jetpack, or even something as simple as a peg leg. This new ability will let us create completely new types of cosmetics.
Not only that, but we’ve also been working on a change, for cosmetics that go over your hands, which will allow you to see them while you're in first person. We think this idea is super unique, and should be coming to the client in the near future. We’ve also just released 8 new emotes onto our store, such as Pollo, Evil Plan, Rebellious, Shimmy Wiggle, Side Shuffle, Squabble, Surfin Bird, and Walkin Pretty.
Elemental Collection
To end off our cosmetic related news, we released our brand new Elemental Collection. This collection is something unlike anything we’ve released in the past, and features 18 new cloaks, 8 new pets, 5 new auras, 4 new wings, 6 new suits, and 4 new bodywear. On top of these, we also have 3 new bundles which feature the elements, in case you're looking to rock the entire set.
